Using anonymised and aggregated transaction data from over 80 million active cards in Italy, Mastercard analyses e-commerce trends and the spending habits of Italian consumers when making online payments.

The session will offer a preview of some of the key findings from the “Mastercard eCommerce Trends 2026 – Online Shopping Habits of Italians”, including an analysis of product categories, the level of concentration among the main marketplaces and retailers, the geographical distribution of online payment penetration, and the main seasonal patterns in eCommerce.
