Enrico Bertino, born in 1991, is Chief AI Officer & Co-founder of indigo.ai, one of the main European players in the field of generative AI applied to natural language. The startup, part of the Vedrai Group since 2022, helps the most innovative companies to evolve their customer experience thanks to conversational Artificial Intelligence. Following a double degree in Mathematical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan obtained between Italy and France, and after specializing in Big Data applications to statistics and machine learning, he approached the world of natural language and co-founded the conversational Artificial Intelligence platform Indigo.ai starting from his passion for mathematics and statistics. Today he directs the company's research and development team, managing the production of language models that allow the platform to be kept up to date with the state of the art at a global level. In this context he developed the BERTino language model available in open source mode at the link https://huggingface.co/indigo-ai/BERTino which is currently among the most downloaded Italian-language NPL models. He is also active in the publication of scientific articles and maintains collaborations with research institutes and universities, such as the Polytechnic of Milan and the University of Edinburgh. In 2021 he was named by Forbes as a leader of the future under 30 among the 100 best companies in the field of new technologies.
